I wanted to say a word about the Big Bold Beautiful workshop at St. Lawrence College's Summer School of the Arts. Our leader was Marg Grothier (http://www.marggrothier.com/) and I just cannot say enough good about her teaching and knowledge. She managed to lead us through our own creative process while at the same time being careful not to influence us toward her own style. I did learn about some of the mechanics of getting into an abstract painting, but I learned at least as much about colour and design. And both of these were areas that I had done a fair bit of study on previously! I highly recommend Marg's workshops if you are able to make the journey to Brockville.

These next three paintings are acrylic and were done at a Big Bold Beautiful Abstracts workshop at the Thousand Islands Summer School of the Arts. Poppy Nocturne is 20 by 36 while Heart of the Buffalo and Song and Dance are 22 by 36. In the order that they appear, Song and Dance is first, Heart of the Buffalo second and last is Poppy Nocturne.
